In this class you will learn how to compose a painting from sketches and pictures, as well as how to decide what information is relevant to include. This class will focus on creating a unique painting inspired by Stacy’s own beautiful sketches and photos. if time permits, she will help students decide what reference material would make a beautiful painting of their own and perhaps start that painting. But regardless of time, Stacy will guide students on how to use their reference material to create unique compositions once they’ve returned to their own studios

In this 4-week online class, award-winning painter Stacy Kamin will share her process for painting “Man’s best friend” in oils. Learn how Stacy conveys light in her compositions while capturing the essence and personality of her subject. She will share how she sets up and mixes color on her palette, creates color harmony, and explains the tools necessary to complete a finished painting. The goal of creating a harmonious painting is one that Stacy looks forward to sharing with you. You can expect personal feedback and one-on-one critiques

Whether you're interested in the peaceful atmosphere of a church, the lively energy of a farmer’s market, or a busy kitchen. We will start by sketching and creating thumbnails, and value studies. We'll then dive into color studies. We will focus on creating a visual abstract idea. Trying to keep the painting abstract as long as possible. You'll gain a solid grasp of crucial elements like massing in your painting, the art of color mixing, creating stunning brushwork, and mastering the interplay of values and color temperature Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, this class offers professional guidance to elevate your artistic abilities and bring interior environments to life on canvas. Join us on this creative journey, with Stacy as your mentor, and let your artistic talents flourish. The meetings will be recorded and available to the students via streaming for up to two months

In this still-life painting class, Stacy Kamin will teach you the necessary elements for making a painting strong and painterly. She will discuss how to organize a palette, how to mix color, and how to achieve color harmony while learning about values and color temperature.
Stacy will help you learn how to make beautiful brushstrokes, which will increase your confidence as a painter. She will teach you how to create form, paint light, shadows and planes, and all while learning about hard and soft edges. Stacy will show you how to set up a still life that is guided by a visual idea.
She will demonstrate how to paint an idea instead of just painting a collection of unrelated objects. With her warm, engaging personality, Stacy will simplify how you think about painting and make becoming an artist seem possible!
There will be demonstrations and daily individual critiques.
