”I love your class.

I like that you are so patient and welcoming.

I love when you sketch out loud, that is when you describe why and what you are doing as you are doing it.

That allows me to understand what you are doing with greater clarity.

I find that I am sketching better when I am following along with you.

I like the shorter class format, one hour or so. The longer sessions are probably more beneficial, but I would rather attend several shorter sessions rather than a longer session.

I love that we are working in diverse media. It is stretching both my ability, keeping me interested, and keeping me relaxed about outcomes.

I have been using that brass dip pen that you showed us and I love it,

I love seeing how you hold the pencil or pen or brush, how you move it in your hand to get the line you want to get.

A huge take away from last class was when you replied to my question about why you had left some places blank, "I did not know what was there, so I left it blank rather than making it up." That was really freeing to me. It makes for a better sketch too.

Your advice about either go with it or move on is really helpful in getting me to free up from the thought that this one has to be a good drawing.

I am grateful for your approach to drawing in general, as an eye-hand practice rather than using a ruler, because seeing is more interesting to me than using a ruler (and I am someone who has worked with and taught metrics and measurement for years).

I also love seeing your work, paintings and drawings. The work from your visit to Europe is stunning. It is an example to me to try to cultivate this kind of trip.

Thanks for being so generous with your knowledge!”

“Hi Stacy, I'm really liking and feeling motivated by the classes so far. The practice is helping me in my drawing and painting, especially in considering contour and shadow shapes. The group of people is nice and supportive. You're doing a great job of making it fun and I'm sure it will only improve. Thank you for doing this!”

“I’ve been participating in Stacy Kamin's “Sketch Book Practice” group for about five months and am amazed by the results. Stacy presents the process of drawing in a clear, concise, easy-to-follow format. I always feel like I get what I need to be successful. I would recommend “Sketch Book Practice” to any beginner or advanced drawing enthusiast.”

“Stacy helps to de-mystify the process of drawing. She helps me improve my drawing by helping me to “see” what experienced artists see”

“Sketch Book Practice is a step-by-step process that easily builds on the prior step. This ensures success. Stacy teaches techniques that I can use in almost any drawing situation. I always feel like I’m successful”

“I am enjoying Sketch Book Practice immensely. Thank you.

Sketch Book practice is helping me become more confident to sketch outside.

I like using the pen on watercolour paper and using the watercolours.

There isn't anything that I'm not enjoying. Everything is learning for me.

I'm open to learning to draw anything, Stacy.

What I'd like to share with you is that I was confident enough, at the airport on Tuesday last while awaiting my flight to Kerry, to sketch people around me, at a distance, of course! First time EVER, Stacy. I feel inspired by your non judgemental, encouraging and patient teaching.”

“I’m enjoying the classes.

I think what you’re teaching right now… faces depth shadows etc are areas of great interest. Flowers landscape animals like birds would be very interesting to learn as well.

I think you’re a very good teacher and very encouraging. I’ve been drawing a lot on my own as an example of your encouragement. I was ready to give up early on.

But instead I keep at it and try to improve my skills.”

“I watch all your videos and they have helped me. I don't draw enough so they are my go to for practice. I hope you continue to do these sessions. I can see you grow as a teacher and that is I am sure rewarding for you and your students. Thanks again for your caring so much!”

“You really started me out on my drawing/watercolor journey! So nice to see how you have set up on your own. I'm really enjoying the classes.”
